Hi!
I cannot wait to work with you and your little(s).
Below is my newborn prep guide to ensure we have the smoothest possible session. Now if you are not able to complete everything I totally understand! Sometimes we just have to do what baby wants.
NEWBORN PREP
Here are some prep instructions to help be sure baby is nice and comfortable during our session.
1) Try to keep baby awake 30-60 min before leaving for the session.
2) Dress baby in an easy to take off outfit typically a zip up onesie.
3)Feed the baby before you leave so baby is nice and full.
4) Arrive 10-15 min early to top off baby if needed. You may have to do this in the car as sometimes I do not get to studio that early due to prior things I am finishing up.
5) Bring extra feeding supplies.
6) Bring a paci.
SIBLING PREP
To ensure we have a calm session talk to your other children and let them know what we are about to do. If things start to get stressful for them during the session, just a reminder to take a deep breathe. Especially if it's a toddler/ younger child; their world just had a huge change it in with a new sibling coming home. I will pause the session portion with them in it and move on to give them a break and circle back. If your little does not like to touch or get near baby bring a tiny treat, like a puff/cheerio/sweettart, we can hide in the bassinet/ next to baby to "bribe" them to come close. That helps getting them close to baby and makes it look like they're interacting with baby. I would also suggest bringing their outfit to the studio and change there just to avoid getting it dirty in the car. Feel free to bring water only and some not so messy snacks for them.
Just try sit back and try to relax. I know juggling a newborn & toddler can be stressful, but trust me when I say they feed off our energy. So if Mama is stressed they tend to get anxious too. We will get the best photos trust me.
I can't wait to work with you and I will see you soon!
